Software & Applied AI Engineer (Brasov,Romania)

Requirements

You are an experienced software engineer with solid experience in building reliable services and you want to take the next step into the world of AI? Then this role at GuideStream might be a perfect fit.

As a Software & Applied AI Engineer (Remote, Romania) you will work in a small, experienced team on real customer solutions – from integrating modern AI services into existing system landscapes to developing new, cloud-based backend components. Occasionally, you will also contribute to frontend development, e.g. for Human in the loop interfaces.

Requirements

- You live in or close to Brasov (an office is planned in the future with hybrid setup)

- 7+ years of professional experience in backend development, ideally building and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs

- Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: TypeScript, Python or .NET (C#)

- Experience in developing and operating enterprise / business applications (e.g. banking, insurance, manufacturing or similar domains)

- Solid knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.), including data modeling and query optimization basics

- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP) and cloud-native services

- Practical experience with Docker and container-based development/deployment workflows

- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (version control with Git, code reviews, CI/CD, testing)

- Strong problem-solving skills, a pragmatic mindset and willingness to take ownership from design to production

- High motivation to learn and work with AI/ML and LLM-based solutions, even if not yet an expert

- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
